Right to education act and proposed changes to ensure accountability by Odisha State Government.
First of all  let us understand the right to education act. Under the act free and compulsory education till the age of 14 years is provided by the state government.
To ensure accountability students of class 5 and class 8 who fail in their final examination will be given additional opportunity to pass their examination and get promoted to higher class . In case they fail in the additional opportunity given, they have to study in the same class for another year.
What will happen with this extra opportunity is that students with fail mark score can save their one year valuable time by studying more in the additional opportunity and do good for themselves and their families.
Known as the Right to education act 2025 , a structured examination system will be introduced for Class V and Class VIII students at the end of every academic year in order to ensure that foundational learning levels are achieved before students are promoted.
Just like other field of development the middle school education system will also get revolutionary steps towards the democratization of school education at this level.
